2009 Bird Festival
Art Exhibition and Sales

The annual Bird Festival will open Friday evening April 24, continuing Saturday afternoon and evening April 25, and concluding Sunday morning April 26. The Art Exhibition portion of the Festival will be held Saturday April 25 during the afternoon sessions beginning at 12:00 noon until the beginning of the evening sessions at 7:00 p.m.

Artist Information

1. Participating artists must complete and return the accompanying Exhibit Registration Form by April 18 to:

2. No entry fee or exhibit space fee will be required for participation.

3. A 20% commission will be charged on all sales from the exhibition. This commission will help the Center, a non-profit organization, educate area citizens about our natural resources and how to protect them. Artist will be responsible for all sales, including change and collection of taxes. Each artist will remit a check or cash amounting to 20% sales for the day.

4. Set up will be from 10:00a.m. - 12:00 noon the morning of the exhibit. Exhibit will be from 12:00 p.m.-7:00 p.m. Please check in upon arrival, prior to set up, to receive space assignments. Allocated spaces in the tent will be assigned on a first-come basis as registrations are received. Should entries exceed the assigned spaces in the tent, overflow spaces will be assigned around the tent but not under the cover of the tent. Tent booth space will be 10'x10'.

5. The Audubon Center will not provide display panels or tables. However, the Center will provide electrical hookup for lighting provided by the artist. Please include how many amps you will need.

6. Artists are expected to set up and maintain their own exhibits and exhibits must remain within the allotted space. Booths are to be attended by adults only. Center volunteers will be available at various times to allow the artists time for breaks and meals if needed.

7. There are no media restrictions however, it is hoped that the artist will bring a majority of original work along with some reproductions of previous work available for sales. The exhibit is accompanying the annual Bird Festival therefore it is requested that at least 1/3 of the artist's work focus on birds in a natural or realistic setting or in an abstract, expressionistic or design related motif. No kits or manufactured items will be allowed.

8. The Audubon Center cannot assume liability for any loss or damage to artwork during the festival, in transportation or otherwise.
