Join in the fun at Wildcat Park on August 12, 2017.  We will be in the sun from 9 to 3.  So, bring your towel, sunscreen, and be ready to have a blast!

This year, you can build your own cardboard boat and race against your family, friends, coworkers, or complete strangers.  Please check out the guidelines and pre-register by Aug 10th.  (You can download them from the link below)

If you aren't so keen on the "building" your own boat, then take a try at this year's self-propelled inner tube race.  Guidelines here are simple:

  • Register before 10 am.
  • Pay your $5 entry fee.
  • Do not use anything mechanical to propel your body and your inner tube during the race.
  • You may borrow one of our inner tubes or bring  your own.
  • Listen to the judges & officials.
  • Get yourself over the finish line before anyone else.

Or help a kid (ages 3 to 12) build their own shoe box boat.  There are guidelines for this one too!  You can download the registration & guidelines below.  Please pre-register by Aug 10th.

Our Missouri Department of Conservation partners are sponsoring the Kid's Fishing Derby that will be held from 8 to 10 at Walter Woods.  There will be prizes for these brave fisher boys & girls.  Kids need to be pre-registered.  Call MDC at 417-629-3423 for more information.  Space is limited.

Or try your luck at the duck race.  Ducks can be purchased by calling 417-782-6287.  They aren't real ducks for you newbies!  They are rubber ducks that are set free to "race" to the finish line.  The first duck to cross the line wins  a Kayak donated by Bass Pro.  There are tons of other spectacular prizes to be won.  Winners are responsible for picking up their own prize.  Prizes must be claimed by August 30th or prizes will be forfeited.   Duck prices start at $5 for one, $10 for three, $20 for seven, $50 for 22, and $100 for 40 ducks.  Stop by the Center and you can test and choose your own duck(s)!

We will have a dunk tank, super soakers, and several booths sharing information about water.

The Clean Water Raingers will also be performing along with other great acts in the entertainment tent.  So, cool off in the tent and be entertained.

Thank you to our great partners & sponsors:
